Best restaurant on Madeira!!!!The interior is elegantly simple, with tasteful decor and comfortable seating that allows you to relax and fully immerse yourself in the dining experience. The staff members are attentive, friendly, and genuinely happy to serve you. They are always smiles, eager to enhance your dining journey and make you feel like a cherished guest. It was Fabio(owner)advice that I eat ricotta cheesecake and it was very delicious. This restaurant is an absolute must and I will certainly food here again the next time I visit Madeira. It’s a haven where food is not just nourishment but also an expression of love and passion.
Delicious food with great ambiance! The fish options are delicious and combine great flavours. The scabbard fish with the passion fruit was excellent and the sardine starters were so fresh!
JK, you are an absolutely amazing chef and friend! The food, atmosphere, and energy are truly what make this place so special.Today, we had the pickled eggs (absolutely to die for), along with the dried fish and vegetables (equally to die for)—and, oh, by the way, on the house! For our entrées, we enjoyed perfectly cooked Tuna and Ox Belly, paired with potatoes and greens……but the star of the show was the cheesecake with Poncha custard and peanut crumble—hands down the most delicious Madeira-inspired dessert that will have people raving well into the evening.A big thank you to JK and the incredible staff for making our day so memorable, and to Kampo for adding yet another exceptional restaurant to Madeira's culinary scene!
Beautiful place in the old town area. All the dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. We loved the Seabass with lime rice and the Cornflake Scabbard fish. The cream cheese with maracuya is a fantastic option for dessert.Lovely staff.
Truly a 5-star experience. This restaurant definitely deserves more diners.I ordered the duck rice and shrimps based on the manager’s recommendation. Both are delicious, especially the duck rice. The duck meat was very tender and the risotto which was with duck meat was amazingly good! There was more risotto than what the photo shows. The manager provided very good service. This restaurant is the first one at the alley so some tourists might instead pick the 2nd or the 3rd restaurant. I definitely recommend it to all the foodies
An enjoyable experience at a cozy restaurant. The personnel is polite, hospitable, and generous towards their customers. With regard to the food they serve, it can be described as a star-restaurant experience for a very accessible price. They simply deserve more praise and popularity
The overall experience at this restaurant was a good one. The staff was very nice, professional and the serving was great. We came without high expectations and we had a positive experience. The black rice octopus was a blast being a tasty, fresh and generous dish. We had sardines and king prawns as entrada and they were delicious, fresh with an amazing olive oil sauce. I would recommend a bit of a change for the black scabbard with passion fruit sauce: I would change the amount of fish versus the side (the fish was 30% compared to the potatoes side 70%). Kid friendliness is an important aspect for us and it definitely was. A bit pricey, but it’s worth it.
Tasty food and authentic menu, was the second restaurant of Julio we tried and left impressed. Service is outstanding, menu is not big but everything is fresh and presentation is beautiful. Highly recommended
